For birders from across the country birding in Nebraska is synonymous with the amazing Sandhill Crane migration. But the truth is that the Sandhills offer so much more than that for birders. From Greater Prairie Chickens to Bald Eagles there are numerous viewing opportunities throughout the year in the Nebraska Sandhills. The varying terrain of river valleys, forests, and of course the Sandhills combined with a relatively low level of human development means that there is an amazing amount of ecological diversity that makes a birding trip along Nebraska’s Highway 2 a must-see for birders.
